Kyra Minturn
KyraMinturn Sedgwick, born 19th August 1965, is an American actress. Her leading role on the crime drama TNT The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most well-known. Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. Following the conclusion of the seventh season, the series was cancelled on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who works as a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick says she is Jewish and claims she is a member of Passover seders.
